FOOD!
Food is number one excuse & reason when it comes to health.
Since the beginning of time, food has been a catalyst for change in life. But over time, it became less about survival/fuel, and more about entertaining, comfort, and time commitment.
None of this is a bad thing, until it starts to become the excuse for why we as a nation have become obese and unhealthy.
The only way to change this is if we all take some level of vested interest in making better decisions for our health as individuals. But with time being a factor and a sedentary unpredictable day to day lifestyle now the norm, how do we manage to find a way to make it work? Here are 5 tips for improving how we live healthier lives when it comes to food!
1. Spend 15 minutes each day looking up your current go to food options and find healthier options.
2. Have a meal service deliver you food in portions for your lifestyle needs on a daily-weekly basis.
3. Prepare "go to" food ahead of time that is hard to find such as protein and fiber to avoid always reaching for high carbohydrate and fat options that are always easy to find and readily available.
4. Keep food "Staples" handy at home, in the car, and at work. Great sources of protein and fruits and veggies make for great staples that will sustain you for longer periods of time, just keep fats in portion size containers to avoid unconscious eating.
Keep a food journal, and partner up with a friend to prep meals weekly or hire an accountability coach or fitness chef to help prepare and keep you on track.
